The fact is that over 85 percent of all traffic accidents are caused solely by driver or rider error. Little, if any, further training is ever taken by the majority of drivers after passing the basic "L" test.

Advanced/defensive driver training concentrates on four key areas:

1) Observation
2) Concentration
3) Awareness
4) Restraint.

Most drivers possess most of the attributes to become a better and safer driver but few choose to use them. After all, once we have passed the basic "L" test there seems to be little incentive to raise our skill level. Many drivers believe it's the other driver who is the idiot and therefore to blame.
