The average pass rate for intensive driving course pupils is approximately 88%. The national average is 47% according to the DVSA.
Also sometimes referred to as ‘crash courses’ intensive driving courses are suitable for learners who want to pass their driving test in a much shorter timeframe than normal.
An intensive driving course will allow you to learn at a faster rate because everything you learn will be fresh in your mind and you are not waiting a week or more between lessons.
With weekly driving lessons, it’s sometimes easy to forget things. Clutch control for example, which is often one of the most difficult skills to master for a novice driver, is related to muscle memory and coordination, and spending several hours in one day using the clutch makes it easier to learn.
You will generally undertake the same training as you would with a longer series of conventional driving lessons with any Ilford based driving school, but your intensive course can be tailored to focus on the areas of your driving skills that you’re least proficient with.
It is logical to suppose that a learner driver who has had lessons in the past may need less hours to attain driving test level proficiency than a complete beginner. That is why we give some guidance.
But every person is different, and factors such as clutch control, coordination, ability to master new practical skills and confidence levels will always vary from person to person. Experienced learner drivers who are close to test standard, often require a few intensive driving lessons to prepare for their driving test, while new learner drivers taking their first driving lessons, tend to require one of our longer 42hr+ driving courses.
Your course will be with a local Ilford based instructor who knows the area & roads very well, and he/she will agree with you how best to maximise your course hours.
